Biography
Christian Demare, photographer, born 1969, lives and works in Paris.
After exploring drawing, painting or engraving, it is to photography that he has turned in recent years.
A few exhibitions and publications punctuate a discrete course entirely devoted to work, research and experimentation.
Recently his work entered a period of greater visibility to make its work more accessible ; and collaborations with backgrounds as diverse as literature or the music. Some larger projects and exhibitions complete this new cycle of creation.

My art is figurative even if sometimes the subject disappears; my art is narrative even if the stories are fragmentary.
The images are nothing other than furtive traces and testimonies; a few clues left here and there…" |

Biographie
Christian Demare, photographe-plasticien, né en 1969, vit et travail à Paris.
Après avoir exploré le dessin, la peinture ou la gravure, c'est vers la photographie qu'il s'est tourné depuis quelques années.
Quelques rares expositions et publications viennent ponctuer un parcours discret entièrement voué au travail, à la recherche et aux expérimentations.
Depuis peu son travail est rentré dans une phase de plus grande visibilité ; les démarches pour rendre son travail accessible se multiplient ainsi que des collaborations avec des milieux aussi variés que celui de la littérature ou celui de la musique. Des projets de plus grande envergure et des expositions viennent compléter ce nouveau cycle de création.
" Peindre, dépeindre, dessiner et photographier.
S'arrêter un instant, regarder, essayer de prendre le temps pour humblement regarder les choses ; entre la contemplation et la méditation. Essayer de donner à voir l'immensité des choses, s'approcher des êtres, frôler les palpitations de la vie. Donner à voir, ouvrir le regard, ressentir et toucher du bout des doigts le réel... Ce réel contenant tout le tragique et le magique - toute la lumière et l'incroyable espoir, les cœurs déchirés et la nature éblouissante, le mortel ennui et l'amour absolu.
Mon art est figuratif même si le sujet parfois disparaît ; mon art est narratif même si les histoires sont décousues.
Les images ne sont que traces et témoignages furtifs ; quelques indices laissé de ci de-là... " |
